Feedback

I like some of your ideas here
The soundtrack is excellent - gives the whole a unified feel
Some of the framing is good and you have tried to hint at a decline towards the girl's demise
Plenty to do though
without the rewind bit the whole thing is 30 seconds so would need to be of incredible quality to access the higher marks so you will need to film more as you intend to
I really like the montage of arty shots of alcohol in your animatic - could be very effective
The shots in smoking area look odd (out of focus?) - redo

rough cut final

This is our final version of the rough cut we have made. The results from the questionnaire showed that the audience felt our film would be aimed teens both genders. They mostly liked the editing and camera shots, also the responses showed that they like the the sound track and they thought the rewind section was effective. Most of the responses showed that they felt that more of the story line could be revealed as it did not prove to be as clear as we thought. Most people decided that they would like to go and see the film from the trailer.

We have decided that to improve our trailer we should add more shots to show the downward spiral of the character and therefore improving the clarity of the story. We also think that the pace of the trailer should be faster and we are contemplating removing the rewind section. Or using slightly different camera angles in the rewind section. Also the close ups of the main character need to be re-filmed as they are blurry.

The title of the film here would really help

Pearl And Dean

http://business.pearlanddean.com/filmplanner/filmdetail.html?FilmID=2409

This is the Pearl and Dean website results for the film Thirteen, which are relevant to our film because its a similar film to which we are creating. So it gives us an idea about what audience our film should be aimed at. Because it has the same demographic as our film.

rough cut questionnaire

Questionnaire Group 85

What audience do you think our film is aimed at?

What did you like about our trailer?

What did you dislike about our trailer?

How could we improve?

Would you want to see this film?

Was the variety of camera shots consistent?

This is a questionnaire that we created to get feedback about our rough cut for our trailer. When we show our rough cut to the class we will hand this out and get the feedback.

Blog looks good -filming now coming on
You should film the animatic as it is a teaser trailer
To do
Jenny/ Jade
You need to upload your campaign stuff in detail by 13th Nov as the interim report is due soon and I will be going through my check list for individual entries - where there is a gap this will be reflected in the effort and current working grade

Costume design

We decided that as the teaser trailer covers the life of the main character she should be in different outfits in each shot to indicate different situations.

The shots where she is by herself she is wearing clothes of a typical teenage girl, stylish yet casual. She is wearing pastel colours, blues and greens in order to reflect the characters feelings; she does not want to stand out from the crowd.

We thought that in the party scenes the character should be more dressed up, so decided on skirts and more feminine tops. At one of the parties the girl is wearing a flowery top in red and pink, this indicates a different side to her character for when she is at social situations.

shooting schedule

We staged several party scenes over the half term break, and are now in the second week back from half term and have been filming each lesson and uploading the new footage. The schedule is to now film in the next lesson and then start our rough cut.

We may decide that some other scenes need to be shot and that some effects may be added using Photoshop. We will access this after the rough cut is completed.

Development of ideas

Development of Ideas
Over the half term, we came to a group decision that the original trailer idea did not fit the brief teaser trailer and was too long. To it make it easier to understand we have decided to focus the film on one main character instead of four characters.

We are going to keep the genre the same and still do a teen drama. We watched the teaser trailer for 'Lilja 4ever'. We thought the fast pace of this trailer would be more effective and create more of an enigma. Below is the teaser trailer:
